Otto G. Brueske, 91, of Rochester, MN, peacefully passed away on April 28, 2025, at Seasons Hospice House surrounded by family. He was born on January 5, 1934, in rural Plainview, MN, to parents Alfred and Marie (Petz) Brueske. A proud graduate of Plainview High School in 1951, Otto enjoyed lifelong relationships with his peers.
On August 19, 1955, Otto married Beatrice "Bea" Harmon in Bremen, MN, beginning a partnership that would flourish through shared dreams and adventures. The couple made their way to Rochester in 1967. Otto continued to grow his circle of friends with a kind smile and a winning sense of humor everywhere he went. He ran three service stations, raised two boys with Bea, and was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Outside of work, Otto and Bea filled their life with friends and the adventure of the open road through camping. They enjoyed annual get-togethers in Shell Lake, WI with family and friends as well as regional rallies with the Holiday Rambler RV Club for many years. When Otto sold the stations in 1994 and Bea retired, the two of them were able to enjoy larger cross-continent trips with the trailer club. From Alaska to Newfoundland to Georgia to Wyoming, every trip was an opportunity to make new friends and connect with old ones.
Later in life, Otto enjoyed delivering parts to small towns in the area and getting to know his customers in the shops. He loved being outside spending his time grilling, walking, gardening, and chatting with his neighbors. The only thing more important to him than his work and hobbies was his family.
He leaves behind his son Wayne (Judy), grandson Ben (Abbey), and sister Clara Aarsvold, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished him. Otto joins his beloved wife Bea, son Roger, sister Mary (David) Stettler, and brother-in-law David Aarsvold in eternal rest.
A funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 800 E Silver Lake Drive NE in Rochester. Doors will open for visitation at 10 AM. Following the service, Otto will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Plainview where his life and legacy will be remembered fondly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Seasons Hospice are welcomed by the family.
Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Brueske family.
