Patricia Lois Johnston

Patricia Lois Johnston, 70, of Rochester, MN died on November 16, 2021 in Rochester. Patricia Lois Cruden was born on December 11, 1950 to parents Bernie and Lois (Wolters) Cruden in Fargo, ND. Patricia was one of five children. She attended St. Aloysius grade school for grades 1-8 and then went on to graduate from Lisbon High School in 1968. On March 14, 1970, she married Richard Amundrud, in ND. In their union, they had three children, Patrick, Eric and Amy. Together they lived in Grand Forks, ND until moving to Minneapolis, MN in 1974. They later divorced in 1992. In May of 1971, Patricia graduated from Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in ND. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 42 years, 37 of those years being at St. Mary's Hospital, Mayo Clinic. On May 2, 1998, she married David Robert Johnston, of Dodge Center, MN. She became a step-mom to Michelle and Jessica. Patricia enjoyed her career, her many friends, volunteering at schools, doing puzzles and playing games. She also loved to go to rummage sales and browse for antiques. Patricia was a member of Women's Auxiliary American Legion #2228 of Rochester, MN. Patricia is survived by her children, Eric (Sue) Amundrud and Amy Amundrud; step-children, Michelle (Troy) Schulze and Jessica (Randy) Robinson; Grandchildren, Benjamin and Hope Amundrud, and Shawn and Katie Amundrud Carver; step-grandchildren, Ashton (Brett) Franko, Alexa (Dustin) Streff, Mackenzie (Brock) Franko, Madelyn, Isabel, and Natalie Robinson; step-great-grandchildren, Dakotta, River, Gracelynn and Dalton Streff, and Mabel and Oakley Franko; siblings, John Cruden, Tom Cruden, Mary Carlson, and Bernadette (Gary) Botner; and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, David; her son, Patrick Amundrud; her parents; and her brother-in-law Lowell Carlson. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Pax Christi Catholic Church (4135 18th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN. Memorials may be made to Hope Lodge, the Dorothy Day House or Pax Christie Youth.
