Randy Wittrock

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Wittrock on September 20, 2023 at the age of 63, the result of a massive heart attack.

Randy was born in Milbank, South Dakota and moved to Rochester in 1986. He worked for Mayo Clinic for 33 years in the IT Department and retired in 2020.

Randy loved music and loved having dance parties on their houseboat and in the living room. He and Ann loved traveling and were fortunate enough to be retired together and enjoy lots of adventures with one another. He loved discovering new 'dive bars' and more recently, speakeasy bars. He loved the Minnesota Vikings and could be found on Sundays dressed in all his Viking gear, yelling very loudly at the TV. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play baseball, softball, football and dance recitals and went as many events as he could. He was funny, and the most loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly.

Randy is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Angie Broughton (Darin) of Byron, MN; son, Jeremy (Becky) Wittrock of Harrisburg, SD and grandchildren, Brooks, Maisie, Aaden and Ava. He is also survived by his sisters, Connie (Denny) Lesnar, Renae (Jeff) Taylor, one brother, Dennis (Kim) Wittrock, all of Milbank, SD and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lorraine Wittrock as well as several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
