Rashidat Momoh
January 22, 1991 - January 21, 2026
Rashidat Momoh, 34, a vibrant and devoted soul, passed away in Minneapolis on January 21, 2026. As the youngest of three siblings, she was the "baby" of the family, but her heart was large enough to carry everyone else's burdens before her own.
A woman of profound and faithful belief in Jesus, Rashidat lived her life as a reflection of His grace. Her compassion wasn't just a trait; it was her mission. She was the person who would instinctively put family, friends, and strangers alike ahead of herself, serving as a constant reminder of what it means to love unconditionally.
Her personality was as bright as her favorite color, purple. A devoted, lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, she was known for her unwavering loyalty to the team. She carried her fandom with a wonderful sense of humor, famously crowning herself "Mrs. Culpepper" during the height of her favorite era of Vikings football. Whether the team was up or down, her purple pride remained a constant.
Her greatest joy, however, was her role as Auntie Shi. She took "spoiling the nephies" to an art form, showering her nephews with love, attention, and the kind of devotion only she could give. Recently, Rashidat had also discovered a quiet passion for reading, finding peace and new worlds within the pages of her growing book collection.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Lydia; her father, Shakiru; her siblings, Vai (Andrew) and Rashad (Cassie); and her beloved "nephies" who will grow up knowing exactly how much their aunt adored them. She was preceded in death by her best friend and love, Ryan.
A celebration of Rashidat's life and faith will be held from 11am until 2pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Ranfranz & Vine Remembrance and Reception Centre, 5482 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN, with a time of sharing at 12:30pm. In honor of her favorite color and her legendary Vikings spirit, the family invites guests to wear purple or Vikings gear. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
