Rev. David Allen Kramer

Reverend David A. Kramer, 89 of Rochester died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at The Homestead of Rochester. David was born August 9, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to Henry and Hilda (Katz) Kramer. He graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio in 1954 with a BA in business, and then served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 in Germany. He met the love of his life Deloris A. Mossholder during his internship at First Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI. He and Deloris were united in marriage on August 15, 1959. David graduated from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary in Colombus, Ohio in 1960. David served as pastor at churches in Madison, WI, Jackson, WI, Manawa, WI, Durand, WI, Tomahawk, WI, and Le Mars, IA at St. John's Lutheran from 1979-1997. He also preached in over thirty Lutheran congregations in his retirement. He was on the Speakers Bureau for Bremwood Lutheran Children's Home in Waverly, IA. He also served on various committees throughout his career including, World Mission ALC, Youth Committee ALC, Parish Education ALC, The Synod Council of the ELCA in WI, Advisory Board of Lutheran Social Services, and Advisory Committee of Plains Area Mental Health. Throughout his career, David was always involved with youth ministry in all the congregations he served. Some of his hobbies included reading, walking, horseshoes, fishing and writing. David is survived by his wife Deloris of Rochester, and his three daughters: Karen (Dan) Landsverk of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Kathy Kramer Grubb (Tommy Grubb) of Sugarland, TX, and Julie Kramer Farley (James Farley) of Rochester, MN. He is further survived by his five grandchildren: Andrew Landsverk, Jennifer Landsverk, Megan Le, Brianna Farley and Savanna Farley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Jim Kramer. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, 1884 22nd Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be held from 2:00- 3:00 PM on Saturday at the church. The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and Rochester Rehab and Living Center for their care and support. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be donated to Seasons Hospice, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, or the Parkinson's Foundation.
