Richard "Dick" A. Pernu

Richard Adolph "Dick" Pernu, 76, of Britt, Minn., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Mt. Iron. He married Geraldine "Geri" Terrio on June 14, 1958, in Mt. Iron. They moved to Rochester in 1965 where he was a teacher for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geri, brother, Alden "Sonny" Pernu, and sister, Maxine "Tootsie" Ferrell. He is survived by sons, Steven (Karen), Thomas (Sherri) and David (Jessica); sisters, Joanne (Tom) Heyd and LaRita (Bruce) Swanson; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Carol Vardsveen.
