Robert (Bob) George Clarke, age 97, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully at The Waters on Mayowood, on May 24, 2025.
Robert was born to George and Mildred Clarke, on June 5, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticut. He would graduate from East Haven High School, then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Later, Robert attended Springfield College and received his Bachelor's degree, Cal State Los Angeles for his teaching certificate, and the University of Redlands receiving his Master's in Education with an emphasis in administration.
On October 4, 1952, Robert was wed to Diane L. Stone. He worked with his wife in Gilford, Connecticut for several years. They then moved out west to Washington in 1956, but soon after moved to California in 1957. Robert and his wife would live in the Los Angeles area for 46 years-most of those in the city of Upland, California. While in Upland, Robert worked as a middle school math teacher and an elementary school principal; while helping to raise their three children: Bart, Noel, and Holly. Robert and Diane would move to Rochester, Minnesota in 2003.
Robert was a friendly and outgoing person, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, playing golf, working in the yard, and helping others.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Diane L. Clarke, his parents George and Mildred Clarke, and sister Carol Gandossy.
He is survived and will be missed by his sons Bart (Jill) Clarke and Noel Clarke, and daughter Holly (Chuck) Rietkerk, grandsons Benjamin Clarke, Taylor (Sarah) Clarke, and Josiah Clarke.
The Clarke family, would like to thank the staff at The Waters on Mayowood for all of their care and support through this difficult time.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life at The Waters on Mayowood on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the community room.
