Robert Schinke

Robert A. Schinke, 75, of Byron, MN died on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 1, 1945 in Rochester, MN to Robert and Marie (Rogstad) Schinke. He graduated from John Marshall High School and worked as a union painter until his retirement. He married Margaret Herring on August 25, 1962 and later divorced. He married Julie Frericks on March 14, 1993. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, sports and animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed singing and played music, casino trips and playing cards with Gordy. He had a dog named Bella that he loved very much. She was his best friend, and she will miss him too. Survivors include seven children and two stepchildren; Tammy Schinke, Katie (Troy) Bierly, Heidi (Larry) Albrecht, Troy Schinke, Robin (Doug) Hemann, Jeff (Sue) Schinke and Jenny (Matt) Tofstad; step-children, Tim (Carrissa) Frericks and Christy Steele; twenty nine grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Mike (Darlene) Schinke, Donny Schinke and Danny (Schelley) Schinke; and one sister, Lorrie (Kent) Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julie, two grandchildren and one great grandson. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 masks will be required for all services and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent to Paws and Claws.
