Ruth Ann Miles

Ruth Ann Miles, 82, of Rochester, MN died Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN.

Mrs. Miles (Ruth Ann Klenke) was born March 9, 1944 the daughter of Charles Edward Klenke and Hollis Marie Schroeder. She married Robert Allen Miles on July 9, 1966.

Mrs. Miles grew up in Racine, MN and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1962. Ruth Ann then attended Rochester Community College and went on to get a Bachelor in Science degree from Winona State College. Upon graduation from Winona State she married Mr. Robert Miles. Ruth Ann taught in several school districts before she and her husband moved to Rochester, MN. In Rochester, Ruth Ann was a substitute teacher covering the Rochester schools as well as schools in Stewartville, Spring Valley, Chatfield, and Dover Eyota.

Ruth Ann was a member of the Rochester Evangel United Methodist Church where she was involved in teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and participating in the women's sewing circle. Ruth Ann enjoyed working with her flowers and had several flower gardens scattered around the yard.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Miles of Rochester, MN; two sons, James (Rachel) of Duluth, MN and Thomas (Christina) of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Jake (Nicole), Rebecca, Abigail, and Emily; two great grandchildren, Lincoln and Brooklyn; brother, Harold (Cook) Klenke; sister-in-law, Nancy Klenke; cousin, Carolyn Klenke and extended family.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Evangel United Methodist Church, 2645 N. Broadway Ave., Rochester, MN with Pastor David Werner officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Evangel United Methodist Church in memory of Ruth Ann.
