Scott Rindahl

Scott Allan Rindahl died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus. Scott was born on September, 7, 1963 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Allan and Carol (Ustby) Rindahl. Scott grew up in Galesville, WI, and attended G-E-T High school. After graduating, he attended Winona State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree. He participated in basketball and golf throughout high school and college. Scott began his career as a PGA Golf Professional at Willow Creek golf course in Rochester, MN where he worked from 1986-1987. He then moved to Boston, Massachusetts and worked at Brookline Country Club. During his time there, he had the opportunity to work the 1988 U.S. Open. He later moved back to Rochester in 1989 and continued his career at Willow Creek golf course up until 2019. Scott married Bonnie Hanson on February 28, 1998 in Rochester, MN and together they had the daughter he had always wanted, Marie. They moved to Stewartville, MN where Scott was very involved in the community and especially enjoyed coaching JV and Varsity girls' basketball as well as Varsity girls' golf within the Stewartville School District and the Stewartville Youth Basketball Association. His coaching career began in Galesville, WI where he also coached girls' basketball. He often referred to coaching as his passion. Aside from coaching, Scott enjoyed traveling, playing golf, running golf tournaments, watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers and cooking. He was an exceptional cook who could turn any ordinary meal into a masterpiece. He especially liked using his smoker. Scott had a smile, voice, and contagious laugh that he will always be remembered for. It was rare to find Scott without a "pep in his step!" Scott is Survived by his wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Marie; parents, Allan and Carol Rindahl of Onalaska, WI; brother, Eric (Pam) Rindahl of Kerrville, TX and nephews, Carl and Matthew. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church (400 5th Ave NE, Stewartville, MN 55976). Masks will be required for the service. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl. NW Rochester, MN 55901) as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.
