Sharon Lee Walker

Sharon Walker (née Gisler) passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2026, at the age of 73, after an eleven-year battle with Parkinson's disease.

Sharon was born in Chicago on October 8, 1952. As the oldest of four children, she was kind, caring, quick-witted, and known for the twinkle of mischief in her eye. She loved reading, playing the piano, and solving puzzles.

More than anything, Sharon cared for people. She spent most of her life working as a nurse, caring for the elderly, treating the sick, and welcoming babies into the world. To those who knew her, she was a listening ear, a trusted sounding board, wise counsel, and a spiritual leader.

Sharon loved the Lord and lived her life as a testimony to the transforming love of Jesus Christ. During the challenges of Parkinson's disease, her faith was tested as she wrestled with what was happening in her body and with her understanding of God. Those conversations remain between Sharon and God, but her trust in Him sustained her, and her faith remained strong to the very end.

Sharon was a beloved wife, devoted mother, proud Nana and Grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She is survived by her husband, David; her children, Coreen, Andrea, Monica, and Nathan; her brothers, Kevin and Steve; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Carol Gisler, and her sister, Linda.

A funeral service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Buffalo Covenant Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a catered lunch after the service.
