Shirley Herman

Shirley Ann Herman, 94, of Rochester, MN passed away on May 8, 2025, at Edenbrook West in Rochester.

Shirley was born on January 21, 1931, in Mankato, MN to Glen and Erma (Murphy) Loken. She graduated from Mankato High School and attended college in Mankato, as well. On October 1, 1950, Shirley married Kenneth Herman in Boston, MA. Eventually the couple moved back to Mankato and then to Rochester in 1963.

Shirley worked for Wonder Bread in Rochester. After retirement, Kenneth and Shirley spent 35 years traveling. She also enjoyed painting, antiques and water aerobics at the YMCA and 125 Live. She also looked forward to spending time on Lake Zumbro and swimming.

Shirley is survived by her children, Cheri (Todd) Vanberg-Hoeft, Michelle (David) La Pointe, Robin Herman, K.G. Herman, and Mary Jo (Kris) Geerdes; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bradley Herman, and daughter, Tanja Bourassa.

A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 11 4th Ave SW, Rochester, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
