Somnang Thuo

Somnang Thuo, 47, of Rochester, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at The Mayo Clinic, St. Marys campus. Somnang was born February 10, 1974 in Cambodia to Chhorn Thuo and Aet Pol. He has been a resident of Rochester for over 4o years. He was a graduate of John Marshall High School and went on to work in shipping and receiving at Crenlo. Somnang was united in marriage to Vida Om Thuo. He enjoyed target practice at the gun rage, taking care of his perfectly manicured lawn and was a collector of watches and sunglasses. Somnang loved to be outdoors, boating, fishing and loved going on bike rides with his children. He was a mentor to many and always had an encouraging word to motivate others. Somnang is survived by his wife, Vida; children, Lisa Om, Davy Thuo and Davuth Thuo; parents, Chhorn Thuo and Aet Pol; siblings, Sina (Jeff) Gibson, Sinath (John) Thuo, Sinoeun "Sunny" (Cory) Thuo, Sinarn (Dem) Ven and Somnith (Sophy) Thuo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until time of the service.
