Souk Thammavong

Souk Thammavong, age 74, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away, January 8th, 2021 at St. Mary's hospital from complications of Covid-19. Souk was born in Muang Sing, Laos on January 5th, 1947. She married Saeng Thammavong in 1967. After fleeing the war, she moved to Rochester in 1989, where she became a U.S. citizen and was employed at the Kahler hotel for 23 years. She retired in 2014. Souk loved gardening and had a passion for cooking. She is survived by her husband, Saeng Thammavong of Rochester, MN; son, La Thammavong (Mary Keller) of Rochester, MN; sister, Tik Thammavongsa of Rochester, MN; brother, Chom Thammavong (Wanpeng) of Lake Wales, FL; sister, Khamda of China; nephews, Keo Thammavongsa, Khamngeuane (Saengone) Thammavongsa, Saeng (Tiffany) Thammavongsa, Scott Thammavong of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Norkham Thammavong and many siblings. Visitation for Souk will be held at 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN.
