Timothy Brandt

October 13, 1957 — November 12, 2023

Timothy Donald Brandt, 66, passed away Sunday, November 12th, 2023, at his home in Rochester, MN. His passing came after a courageous 2-month battle with leukemia.

Tim was born October 13, 1957, in Montevideo, MN to Donald and Arlene (Viestenz) Brandt. He was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN.

Tim graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1976. He was an outstanding baseball pitcher and for many years held the record for strike outs in a single game at Dover Eyota High School.

After high school he began working for Quarve & Anderson Co driving truck and operating heavy equipment. That company was later acquired by Mathy Construction where he worked until his retirement, after 40 years of employment.

Tim was a lifelong pool player, enthusiast, and supporter. He was always up for a game and traveled across the Midwest and the country to participate in pool tournaments, both as an individual and as a team member. He was also active in setting up and maintaining pool tables at tournaments across the country. He enjoyed traveling and spent ample time in the Western US, Florida, and Thailand. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and was always up for a road trip-he always knew the scenic, less traveled routes, to get you to where you wanted to go. Tim could be counted on to help people in any way he could.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his siblings, Terry (Tammy), Todd (Sherry), Tammy (Paul) and Tracy (David). He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his best friend, his yellow lab, Harley.

Per Tim's request, a private family service will be held in the future. There will be a celebration of life event later and notice will be communicated throughout the pool playing community.

The family is grateful for the care and compassion the Mayo Clinic provided Tim, and the family, during his battle with this disease.
