Verlyn Bruce Holt

Verlyn B. "Hoss" Holt, 73, of Byron, MN passed away September 4, 2026 at St. Mary's Hospital.

He was born in Byron on December 3,1952 to Stanley and Velora (Newell) Holt. He grew up on the family farm. On June 16, 1973, he married Sheila Swarthout.

Verlyn worked for MNDOT for over 40 years as a snow plow driver and highway maintenance worker. He had an amazing work ethic and took pride in his work. He enjoyed hunting, playing cribbage, watching the birds from the deck and going up north with his family.

Verlyn is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughters Melissa (Jonah), and Angie; grandsons Andrew (Emma), and Jacob; and brother, Mark (Shelley).

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Darlene, brothers, Tim, Darold, Newell, Tiny, and Floren.

Per Verlyn's wishes, no services will be held. Memorials can be directed to Paws and Claws or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
