Dr. Wayne Charles Boisen age 89 of Rochester, MN, a retired Chiropractor passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 10, 2021 at Seasons Hospice, as a result of diabetes related kidney failure. Wayne was born September 17, 1932, to Charles and Clara Boisen in their home in Mt. Vernon, SD. He was the youngest of 3 children. While attending Chiropractic College in Minneapolis, he met and married Shirley Ann Johnson on September 18, 1954. Upon completing Chiropractic College, he was drafted and was one of a small number of military draftees that were placed into the Navy. He served his 2-year commitment as a Corpsman at the San Diego Naval Base. After leaving the Navy, he started his chiropractic practice in Rochester, MN. Wayne and Shirley had 3 children, Lee Ann (Mark) Chutchian, Brad (Julie) Boisen and Jeff (Felicia) Boisen. Wayne also had 6 grandchildren, Cara Lee (Chutchian) Zmolik and Ross Chutchian, Drew and Shea Boisen, Melanie and Jenna Boisen, and one great granddaughter Ryleigh Zmolik. After Shirley's passing in 1997, Wayne met and married Marylou Schepper in 2002. That marriage brought him 3 stepchildren, Aaron Schepper, Laurie Gladback and Leanne Schepper and 7 step-grandchildren. Wayne also had a nephew, Tom Boisen, that followed him into Chiropractic, practicing with him for years and forming a lifelong father-son bond after Tom lost his father. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Leo and John, his wife Shirley and his daughter Lee Ann. He is survived by his wife Marylou, sons Brad, Jeff and "Tom", as well as his stepchildren Aaron, Laurie and Leanne and his grandchildren. Throughout his life, Wayne selflessly dedicated himself to his family, friends, and his Chiropractic practice. He enjoyed golfing as well as family snowmobiling and boating outings. He was a pilot and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He also enjoyed traveling with his wives and particularly enjoyed cruises. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday December 4th at 2:00pm at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes located at 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the Celebration and a luncheon following the gathering.
