Yvonne "Vonnie" Weeldreyer, age 88, was called to her eternal heavenly home on 8/23/25. Yvonne Marie Bradwisch was born on January 13, 1937 to Arthur and Allanora (Bannick) Bradwisch, at home on the farm in Aurora County, South Dakota.
Vonnie grew up on the farm, attended a one-room country school, graduated from both White Lake High School in 1954, and from Nettleton Business College (Sioux Falls, SD) in 1956. She moved to Pierre, SD to work at the State Department of Public Welfare. While in Pierre, Vonnie met her husband, Mike, who was employed by IBM and they were married in White Lake, SD on June 7, 1958. His career took them to many places: Pierre, Milbank, and Sioux Falls, SD, Rochester, MN, Ft. Wayne, IN, West Bloomfield, MI, and back to Rochester. Vonnie turned each spot into a home for their family. Upon their return to Rochester, Vonnie took medical secretary classes offered through the Mayo Clinic at Rochester Technical College. She worked in that capacity until her husband retired. Vonnie enjoyed traveling, gardening, square dancing, camping, reading, sewing, and painting her husband's wood carvings. She volunteered many years at her church, Holy Cross Lutheran, and for the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary.
Vonnie lived a full, blessed life; she loved, and was loved, by many.
Survivors include her children, two sons and a daughter: James (Pamela) Weeldreyer, Lovelock, NV; Lynn Weeldreyer, Punta Gorda, FL; and Jeffrey Weeldreyer, Rochester, MN. Vonnie is also survived by her siblings, William Bradwisch, Farmington, UT, and Donald (Leanne) Bradwisch, Mitchell, SD. Vonnie was blessed with two grandchildren, Robert (Shannon) Weeldreyer, Grand Forks, ND, and Emily (Claudia) Weeldreyer, Reno, NV, one step-great-grandson, Marc Herrera, and many nieces and nephews.
Vonnie is preceded in death by husband Mike, maternal grandparents Clara nee Reinholdt and William Bannick, paternal grandparents Alma nee Bogenhagen and Frederick Bradwisch, parents Allanora nee Bannick and Arthur Bradwisch, and her sister Vivian (Howard) Jacobs, Spearfish, SD.
A graveside service to will be held in September-more details to come- at Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
