Zhengfang Liu

Zhengfang Liu, 85, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester on February 9, 2026.

Zhengfang Liu is a great mother of 5 children (2 male 3 female), a caring grandmother, an award-winning teacher and professional, a nice friend, a kind and smiling person to face all kinds of situations and difficulties with confidence and calm and efficiency to handle.

Zhengfang was born in Jianhu Jiangsu China on October 6, 1940 into a rich and big Liu family with Waikai Liu as father and Geshi Liu as mother. Both were also very nice and caring people that grandchildren still remember them after 50 years. As the youngest of 8 children, Zhengfang is loved by both parents and 7 elderly brothers and sisters, which developed her very nice character and lovely personality. Zhengfang's academic records were excellent, always among the best in the class and she could jump from first grade to 6th grade without any difficulty. She always liked to learn and she was a very quick learner; whatever she did, she completed the best and won awards every year for several decades. She loves kids, she completed teacher's education. In February 1961, she married Yiyun Wang, teacher of mathematics in teachers' school and high school for 65 years. Together they were born and raised 5 children, and trained children to excellence all round. They paid great emphasis on education and character, as teachers they excelled in education.

Zhengfang came to USA in 2000, and she adapted herself quickly; she loved challenges and opportunities; she liked new environments and made new friends. She liked cooking and gardening, and developed her backyard garden into one of the best, many neighbors praised her. She kindly taught gardening and shared hundreds of vegetables and fruits! Zhengfang enlightened people and always had deep insights and wisdom, encouraging younger people to face the real world with prepared minds and skills. She cooked many delicious foods and shared with many parties and groups, always among the most welcome foods. She played with grandchildren and other school-age children, everybody liked this grandmother who was smiling, fun, and nice! She has been very busy every day, she lived very fulfilled, being respected, and accomplished 85 years!

Service will be at 2pm Friday, February 13, 2026 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home.

Burial will be at 10am Saturday, February 14th 2026 at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
