Brenda Kathleen Canale, 65, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Edenbrook of Rochester, after a 10-year courageous battle with a rare and progressive neurological disease.
Brenda was born June 16, 1954 in Liberty, NY, to Henry and Eleanor (Worster) Canale. She was a graduate of East Senior High in West Seneca, New York. She moved to Rochester with her family in 1972, and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Winona State University. She began her career at Mayo Clinic in 1978, working in various departments, and retiring in 2014. In 1981, Brenda married Greg Wise. They later divorced but remained very close friends. Brenda was an avid walker and animal lover. Brenda enjoyed going out with friends and family, whom she cherished spending time with. She was a fun-loving person with a wonderful sense of humor, easily making friends everywhere. She had a real knack for engaging with people and could get a conversation started with anyone. Brenda really enjoyed life to the fullest and was an awesome auntie to her nephew and niece.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Henry and Eleanor Canale; brother, David (Rhonda) Canale; nephews, Tavis and Tyson Canale; niece, Torey Canale; great-nephew, Declan and former spouse and devoted friend, Greg Wise.
The family thanks all the caregivers at the various group homes, nursing homes, and staff at the Mayo Infusion Therapy Center for all the tender care and comfort they gave to Brenda over the last few years.
