A Celebration of Life service for Alec J. Bratvold, 43, of Rochester, Minnesota, will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, in Rochester, Minn. Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm. Alec passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
Alec was born on October 23, 1975, in Rochester, Minn., to Darrell and Ramona (Frost)) Bratvold. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1994 and had a tight group of friends that remained close his entire life. Alec also met Lori Kelly in their high school Latin class, eventually crossing paths again while working at Mayo Clinic in 2003 and were later married August 27, 2005. Alec was a very proud dad to twelve-year-old Spencer and loved his time with him skateboarding, playing hockey and baseball, fishing, building things in the garage, and racing RC cars. Alec was a superb cook, had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished wood turner creating beautiful pieces of art sold in local art galleries.
Alec worked at Mayo Clinic in Media Support Services for more than 20 years. He will be missed by his colleagues and many that he helped with his technological expertise throughout Mayo Clinic.
In addition to Lori, Spencer and his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Eric (Deni) Lake Elmo; Tina (Mark) Loechler, Theilman; and his nieces and nephews. Alec was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Elsie Bratvold and Clarence and Margaret Frost.

Lori and Alec were my neighbors on 3rd for years. Lori and family my prayers go out to you!
Darrell and Ramona;
I was so sorry to see this. I wish I would have seen it sooner so I could have been at the service. I hope you have many wonderful memories of Alec.
My sympathy and condolences to all of you. I recall the "early years" when we were all pretty new to IXL and the kids were all so small. You guys were our neighbors and we would visit one another's cabins with the kids. How quickly the time passes and precious each moment was. Words cannot Express the heart warming thoughts and love being sent your way at this difficult time. So sorry for this loss. Love and hugs from Sue, Rory and Lani Bauer.
Walking through the campus over the years, the day was always made brighter whenever I would run into Alec and greeted with his smile. Words otherwise seem so inadequate, but we will miss you.
I am sorry to hear of your loss. May loving happy memories help you during this time.
I am so, so sorry to hear about your loss, Lori. Alec will be missed by so many in your family, around Mayo Clinc and throughout the community. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Spencer during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing that Alec is joining other loved ones who went on before him. Much love to you! Jane Milburn.
Alec was a good friend when we used to eat a lot we use to bump into each other at the cub burger king. I enjoyed his sense of humor. Mike Parkin
My prayers are with your family at this horrible time. Nobody knows what words to say. I hope one day in the future you can remember all the good times with him with a smile on your face. Love you! Sue Johnson
I will miss Alec greatly. He was a superb media technician, a fantastic artist, and was pleasant to be around. God bless his family and friends.
Hugs and prayers to you. I have no words. I do hope for the day when you will think of Alec and you will smile or laugh instead of cry. Someday.... a memory: It was always a highlight of summer when the Bratvolds arrived at the farm. Finding the latest batch of kitties was a big deal.
