Your mom was my first grade teacher in Loves Park in 1985. I adored her. She was patient, kind, and loving to the energetic little boy in her class. Fast forward to 2002. I graduated college, moved to Phoenix, and was in my first year teaching elementary school. I learned your mom was also now living and teaching there so I left my school a little early, drove to her school unannounced, and told the office my story. They decided to bring me right down to her classroom before dismissal. They walked me into her room and said you have a visitor. She hadn't seen me since I was 10 and within five seconds of seeing me said "Danny Bartel!" We caught up and talked about teaching. She was a great woman and will be missed.

I met Cyndi through Suzy's wedding (she was the Maid of Honor) and I remember her upbeat and positive personality. Not only was she a lovely person, but she was so smart and fun-loving. Losing a mother is terrible and while you will always miss her, the pain will diminish over time and you will get through this. She will be watching over you and smiling!

Elyse, I am so very sorry for your loss. Scott & I had some great times with your
mom & dad when you were really little! I always enjoyed her sense of humor.

I had the pleasure to meet this beautiful lady and work with her. We did not have too much time together, but it was enough to know that she was a very special person with an angelic soul. She was taken from this earth too soon, but she is for sure in an amazing place looking over her loved ones.

Cynthia was there for me when my bio mom wasn't. She cared for me and showed me the importance of doing the right thing. She made sure I was celebrated on my 18th birthday and that I was recognized in my accomplishments. I will miss her very much.

Elyse and I used to go to Mexican restaurants and tell them it was our birthday so we could get the sombrero and free desert! Cynthia was always on board and was always such a supportive mom. She wasn't a demanding mom and always allowed you to be yourself. You are and will be truly missed.

Cyndi was a dear friend from middle school thru adulthood... even when there were years in between visits, we carried on like a true connection was always there.. we will catch up again my dear angel friend

Suzy Horton on Nov 22, 2020

Cyndi was my best friend since we met at Loves Park School in January of 1985. She was the most loving and generous person whose smile could light up a room. Through many escapades, we shared a special bond. Rest now sweet friend.

From a few long walks in Lincoln City, to long phone talks and texting Cyndi won my heart and friendship. Her devotion to her children was unmatched. Sincerest condolences to her family. I will miss her.

It was the late 70's that I met Cyndi at the old CJ's Bar on State St in Rockford. We were both there alone. She was a tiny thing with a beautiful personality. She asked me if I would sit next to her and be her bodyguard. I said yes. Heaven gained an amazing angel. She will be missed by many friends and family.

Cyndi was a good friend whom I connected with immediately when I first met her. We taught 4th grade together for many years and her classroom was right next door to mine. We would laugh, cry, vent, and laugh again during our days at school. Outside of school, I saw such a wonderful mother and marveled at how devoted she was to her family. When I became pregnant with my first child, she supported me throughout the whole process. Her family became a part of my family and I will cherish those days in my heart forever. I will miss talking to my friend in this world, but I know I will see her on the other side with that big smile of hers. Love you Cyn! ❤️
