Connie Bowen, 101, of Rochester passed away peacefully at Arbor Terrace on May 31, 2021. She was born on April 27, 1920 in Mankato, Minnesota to Harry R. and Clara A. (Burgess) Jones. She graduated from College High School and married Lloyd W. Bowen on May 29, 1941. They were blessed with 3 children, Bradley, Kathleen and Craig. Connie worked at the Mayo Clinic for 26 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her ultimate love and joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Connie spent her many years of retirement doing the things she loved the most, shopping, spending time with her family, traveling and Friday morning coffee with her friends. She had a particular fondness for purses and shoes, even shopping for them on her 101st birthday celebration.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, son, Bradley, granddaughter Heather Bowen and 2 sisters, Joyce and Betty. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Thomson and son, Craig (Darlene) Bowen; grandchildren, Joseph (Jen) Thomson, Jeffrey Thomson (Stan Cuomo), Carey (Corey) Bowen Hansen, Cory Bowen and Connie (David) Bowen Dostal; great grandchildren, Natalie Thomson, Layla Thomson, Cheyenne Coyle Hansen, Lauren Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Hannah Hansen, Isabelle Dostal and Lloyd Bowen Young.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to Arbor Terrace for Connie's exceptional care, particularly Holly, Paula, Marcella and Mao.

A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery.

Bowie - So sorry to hear about your mom. She was always such a joy and so sweet when we saw her. We have known the family for years since Craig & my Cory worked together. We still have the hutch that we got from your mom displaying my Christmas village. Sending you prayers to you and the family.

Connie had the the greatest laugh and I was privileged to hear that laugh many times over the last 58 years-----it's been that long since I first met Kathy. It is wonderful that Connie could be so active over all her 101 years! We can take a page from her book and try to be as caring, good natured, generous, and just plain fun as she was. May she bask in the glory of heaven :)

Bowen Family, you have my deepest sympathy in your loss of "Grandma Connie". I know she was a special light in your family and what a great Matriarch she was to you all. She was always so kind and gracious to me and I always appreciate her for that. I know how much she loved "our girls, Lauren and Abbi, and they will have the memories of her love and sharing to carry with them for the rest of their lives. Hugs and prayers to you all at this very difficult time. Mary Lou Johnson
