Glenda Marie Kendall went to heaven Friday, September 10, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy Kurkowski, and her brother in law, Harlan Hermann.

She is survived by her husband Allen, her children Allison (Cory) Petell and Andrea (Dario) Kendall Muñoz, and her siblings Larry (Jean) Kurkowski, Ianthe (Harlan) Hermann, and Marda (Albert) DeCamillis.

Glenda was born in Binghamton, NY, and soon after moved to Rochester for her father's job at IBM. Glenda graduated from John Marshall, and later went on to become an RN. She was an active member of Autumn Ridge (formerly First Baptist) Church where over the years she was involved in many different ministries: choir, Children's Church, Women's Bible Study, and Vacation Bible School. Quilting and cross stitching groups also brought joy and connection to her faith life. Glenda also took special pride in being a member of a women's a cappella singing group.

Glenda enjoyed cooking, singing, sewing, reading, and being a nurse.
She wholeheartedly loved the Lord, her family, and her friends.

Dear Al, Allison, and Andrea, I am so saddened for each of you for your loss. I am so appreciative of Glenda/your mom's care for Kayla for many years and becoming a good friend to me in our first years living in Minnesota. Having all of you as our neighbors was a godsend. Allison and Andrea, you both grew up to babysit Kayla, and then Jillian, too; it was nice to have you care for my girls as they were growing up. I have kept several of her recipes that are written in her beautiful handwriting, one which I just pulled out as I was looking at some old recipe books - "Glenda's Sugar Cookies". She was a wonderful baker and cook and generous with sharing it. May the release of the struggles she had over the years be a source of peace for each of you. She touched me in ways I had not always expressed to her. You are all in my thoughts.

Dear Kurkowski family, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. I knew your family way back when we were all teenagers at First Baptist Church. That's where I met my husband, the first day I visited, on the first Sunday I was in Rochester to attend Methodist Kahler School of Nursing. My husband's parents, Edward and Barbara Knesel were attendants at Harold and Dorothy's wedding, and vise versa, in Binghamton, NY. I knew Glenda as Larry's little sister, along with Iantha, of course. Because of the close association, Larry and my husband, Chuck, were close friends.
My prayers are with the Kendall family, though I haven't met you, but I have traveled the journey of grief in losing my husband in 2001. So, I know that without the Lord's strength and comfort, I don't know how people make it. Lean heavily into His arms.
