David John Janssen, 76, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away on February 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on July 27, 1946, in Rochester to John and Virginia (Sweeney) Janssen.
David was baptized into God's forever family on September 8, 1946. He attended Rochester Central Lutheran School and John Marshal High School, graduating in 1964. Following High School, he attended Rochester Community College. David graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Winona State University. He retired from the Kahler Corporation after many years of service. He enjoyed walking and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
David is survived by his twin sister, Julie Janssen of Ostrander, Minnesota, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

I have good memories of canoeing down the Zumbro River with David and another cousin or two and visiting his grandmother (my great aunt Irene's) cabin.
As the Pastor said, he was a gentle and kind man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
