Pen Albert Maclin III, 31, of Rochester, MN passed away on April 26, 2023, at his home.
Pen Albert Maclin III was born on August 5, 1991, in Duluth, Minnesota to Pen Jr. and Toria (Polk) Maclin and grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 2009 where he was an All-State Wrestler, All-Conference Football player. After graduation he attended the North Dakota School Of Science where he again became an All-Conference Football player. Pen loved all kinds of music and enjoyed fishing in his free time. He had a great sense of humor and was very kind and loving to anyone who was lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his parents, Pen A. Maclin Jr., and Toria J. Maclin; brother, Kenneth Maclin (Emma Matzke); sister, Latasha Maclin; nephew Kenneth Maclin Jr., aunt and godmother Treva Polk Daly (Richard), aunts Anne (Chuck) Davis, Katherine Smith and uncles Adrian (Peggy) Polk, James Polk, and Douglas Maclin, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

My deepest condolences to the Maclin family. Pen truly was a gentle giant. I don't believe I even remember him raising his voice at anybody. Strongest kid I ever coached !
