Erin Jay Kelly, age 56, died on April 22, 2023 at The Villa in Cherokee, Iowa.
Erin was born on September 4, 1966 in Rochester, Minnesota to Michael and Judi (DeBoer) Kelly. Erin attended and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1985. He then attended Rochester Community and Technical College. He worked as a butcher and baker at Hy-Vee in Rochester and later transferred to Hy-Vee in Cherokee, IA as the head butcher. He also spent a few years working at Tyson foods.
Erin thoroughly enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan of all Minnesota teams especially the Vikings and Twins.
Erin is survived by his parents Michael and Judi Kelly; siblings Kristen (Bradford) Kelly-Bolton and Kimberly Kelly Klein; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW).

I met Erin when he came to Cherokee Iowa and worked at Hy-Vee. Goodness what a character, such a great guy. Loved by many ♡ Will truly be missed by all that knew him. He always had me make banana bread when he used to go home to visit. Never knew if it made the trip. LOL My sympathy goes out to the family. I'm sure he's cracking them up in the heavens above. ♡
Erin was a friend whose humor knew no boundries.It was a pleasure to know him.
